Custom Work
Creating a custom piece of heirloom jewelry gives you a chance to play a role in the creative process. I encourage you to envision what your dream piece would look like. While I don't replicate other jewelry artists' creations, I can use images as references to understand the direction you're after, as long as it aligns with my style of work.
After we discuss design details like metal, stones, and your budget, a non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to get started on your custom piece. This amount will be credited toward the final cost of your design.
When the final design is agreed upon, you will be sent a contract itemizing the details of your custom jewelry along with an invoice for 50% of the total cost which is non-refundable to proceed. The balance will be due when the custom piece is complete.
How do I get started?
Please reach out to hello@19handsjewelry or by phone at 510-883-8225 to set up a complementary in person or zoom meeting to discuss the details of your dream piece of jewelry.
How long will it take?
Typically customs can take 6-8 weeks or more to complete. It all depends on the selection of gemstones we are looking to use. If you need it sooner, we can discuss the feasibility of expediting the process.
Can you use my gold in the project?
Yes! There is a chance your gold is not suitable for casting--we can discuss.
For accepting gold from a customer, I offer a credit based on the market rate melt value on the day of the paid deposit. You will receive 75% of the scrap value towards the gold cost for your piece.
Can you use my heirloom stones in the project?
Yes! But on a case by case basis.
What else is included in the cost?
Additional fees include labor, metal cost, gemstone cost, stone setting, and shipping. Price quotes are good for one month due to constantly changing metal markets.
The fine print
I reserve the right to reproduce the design, including sales of the design or use of the design in marketing & brand promotion. A client’s purchase of the artwork does not transfer ownership of the artwork’s copyright.
*Custom projects are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or store credit. Please review final design, measurements, etc. thoroughly.
